Who We Are

Welcome to Château du Chat et Chien, the longest-running cattery in the Deux-Sèvres region and now home to our luxury dog kennels too. For more than 18 years, we’ve been dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a safe, comfortable, and loving place to stay while their owners are away. Our family-run business is set in 2.5 acres of secure parkland, surrounded by 26 acres of meadows, woodland, and a beautiful lake – the perfect backdrop for daily walks and playtime.
Every aspect of our cattery and kennels has been purpose-built with your pet’s comfort in mind, from warm, spacious accommodation to secure outdoor exercise areas.

With over 40 years of hands-on experience in showing, breeding, and caring for championship-winning Afghan Hounds, our family has dedicated a lifetime to animal care. The tradition began with my parents, who successfully bred and showed Afghan Hounds across the UK and Europe, earning recognition at championship level. Growing up alongside this, I have been surrounded by animals all my life, gaining invaluable knowledge and a deep love for their wellbeing.  Over the years we are now home to 7 cats of my own, 3 Horses and I recently adopted two rescue  dogs, red setter Chef and spaniel Tobi.  Today, I continue the family passion here at the château, combining generations of experience with the personal attention and care every pet deserves.
